Their number one goal is to preserve the legacy of The Cars by celebrating their catalog of music with everyone. The Side Cars Band emulates the look, style, and sound that led The Cars to the the top of the billboard charts, selling millions of records throughout their career, and pioneering new wave and power pop, and Music Video during the early years of MTV, and ultimately being inducted into the Rock-N-Roll Hall of fame.
The Cars, with their unique style and sound, and refreshingly innovative musical creativity which blends classic rock and roll vibes, rockabilly, and guitar rock layered with the evolving synthesizer pop and power pop music of the late 70’s and early 80’s, The Cars made their mark in the history of contemporary American popular music and pop culture. Since the bands inception in Boston, dating back to 1976, and the release of their self titled debut Album in 1978, their music has proven to be timeless and influential to listeners and musicians to this very day.

The Side Cars Band is led by Joe Leo. He mirrors the style and sound of the late great Ric Ocasek, on both vocals and guitar, and the lead vocals of Benjamin Orr. Joe Leo is a 36 year old musician, singer, songwriter, and actor and he owns and operates Outraged Studios and Outraged Entertainment in Hawthorne, NY, which offers live music rehearsal space, recording, live audio engineering services, and band management and booking agency for professional tribute bands, cover bands, and original artists. Joe Leo grew up listening to The Cars. He recalls The Cars Complete Greatest Hits Compilation CD released in 2002 as his favorite CD to listen to while cruising around in his car, during his high school years. Joe Leo’s favorite song by The Cars is “It’s Not the Night,” from the Heartbeat City Album, lead vox by Benjamin Orr.
Performing the role of Benjamin Orr, is a role split by Larry Forrest and Lino Sciarretta. Both Larry and Lino lay down the melodic Ben Orr Bass Grooves and they sing melodic harmony vocals in every song performed. Performing the role of Elliot Easton is a role split by lead guitarists Mike Miranda and Rick Agosta. They have been active guitarists on the Westchester County NY live music scene. They have always read about Elliot Easton of The Cars. Easton had been featured in many influential guitar magazines through the 70’s & 80’s. Both Mike and Rick are very enthusiastic about performing the honorable role of the great Elliot Easton in The Side Cars Band "A Tribute to The Cars." Exploring and performing Easton’s guitar work has inspired them to honor the legacy of The Cars, by sharing the music through the most professional live performances. Mike and Rick's favorite song by The Cars, is “Touch and Go,” from the 1980 album “Panorama.
The Role of David Robinson is split between JJ Drums and Charlie Spataro. They both are drummer / percussionists from NY who have performed with a variety of bands in the tri-state area. They have always had a passion for the music of The Cars, and they have always thought of pursuing a tribute project with other talented musicians that share the same passion. JJ’s and Charlie's favorite song by The Cars is “Bye Bye Love,” released on the 1978 break out self titled album, “The Cars.”
Mark Austin and Mike Rosenman are sharing the role of Greg Hawkes. They have both played in NY tri-state area bands for a number of years including tribute bands covering Santana, The Cult and The Doors.
